Dear CISD Families, This morning, three of our high school seniors were involved in a vehicle accident before school. We are grateful to share that they are safe and receiving care. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts. 💙

Swimming pool closed for evening swim and water aerobics tonight 7/31/25. Will resume next week.

Starlink is currently unavailable due to a global wide outage. The system should restore once it is repaired on Starlinks end.

Dear CISD Parents/Guardians/Caregivers,

The first day of school is August 4, and we’re excited to welcome our students back!
Onsite registration will take place on July 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m at the Cuba High School cafeteria. We will have a new online registration process for existing students, which will be sent to the parent email address on file. Please reach out to your building secretary to update your email address if need be. New student registration will be accessible via our website at http://cuba.k12.nm.us.

Here are a few important updates for this school year:

- The district is moving to a 4-day week. This shift is intended to support improved student attendance and to reduce the amount of time students spend on the bus. The calendar is available online.
- The district will once again provide school supplies for all students.
- We will not be providing backpacks this year. Students are welcome to bring their own, clear backpacks are not required.
- Lockers will be assigned to middle and high school students to store their personal items during the day.
- In accordance with Senate Bill 11 (2025), cell phones and similar electronic devices will not be allowed during instructional time district-wide. This law is designed to minimize distractions and support academic success.

The CISD School-Based Health Center will be open July 28 & 29 all day and after 1:00 pm on July 31, for sports physicals. Please call 575-289-0023 to schedule your appointment.
